The HORIZON program

Growth support for established companies

The program offers tailor-made tools and resources to maximize this growth and ensure that the right internal processes are in place to maximize the chances of success.

Our model, alternating between hybrid and face-to-face offerings, begins with an assessment of the target market, the company’s maturity, its strengths and weaknesses, and then its operational ecosystem. Following this analysis, Mont X will work with the participants to design a growth and support plan defining the actions to be taken to achieve development objectives, such as process and production efficiency, improved value proposition and in-depth market knowledge.


The program includes 5 mandatory training sessions, followed by personalized coaching, to delve into areas deemed essential for the growth phase of the business. Topics covered will include:

  • Marketing
  • The investor pitch
  • Setting up a financing round
  • Planning the scale-up phase
  • Business strategy in a growth context.

Each company participating in the Horizon program benefits from a coaching service, access to our network of experts and to all Mont X events.

Program Value


The Horizon program has an estimated value of over $30,000.

The program registration fee is $6,000 per startup, payable in installments. This includes five training sessions, over 30 hours of individual coaching, access to events, and the welcome retreat in Mont-Tremblant (accommodation included).

Eligibility requirements

  • Horizon program participants must own an established business that has reached the commercialization stage. The business must demonstrate the innovative nature of its solution or business model in the sports, outdoor recreation, and/or wellness sectors. The team must also demonstrate its ability to execute a viable 12-month growth plan.
  • Companies must be registered with the Registraire des Entreprises du Québec or commit to doing so within the first 3 months of the program.
  • Companies must not be more than 49%-owned by another entity.
  • Entrepreneurs must be motivated to learn, and open-minded enough to take full advantage of the support offered. They must also be able to put in a minimum number of hours per week and effort throughout the support period to work on developing their business.
  • In-person attendance at certain events is mandatory.

For the nomination form, you will need :

A pitch deck

15 slides maximum - .pptx or .pdf format. We suggest that you include: a presentation of the company, a statement on the market situation, the problem solved, the solution you propose and an example of a project carried out, if you have one, including photos and significant figures.

A video pitch

Maximum duration 4 minutes. We suggest you include a presentation of the company and of you as an entrepreneur, a statement on the market situation, the problem solved, the solution you propose and an example of a completed project, if you have one. You'll need to provide a URL link to a platform such as Youtubes, Vimeo or Google Drive.

Your business plan

This document should include, at the very least, your company's direction and strategy, target customers and their needs, and the products and/or services offered to these customers.
